Do you know why Cinco de Mayo is celebrated?
Cinco de Mayo (which means Fifth of May in Spanish) commemorates the Mexican Army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. Cinco de Mayo is not to be confused with Mexican Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16.

Cinco de Mayo Taco Truck & Food Drive: May 5, 4-6 pm
Join the Deeds Group and Saltillo Taqueria for tacos. Bring a donation for NEW DAY ARLINGTON, an organization that provides meals to the food insecure students of Arlington and we will provide you some free dinner! Daesy's Tropical Sno Truck will also be there to get a Snow Cone! So come by and eat tacos for a good cause!
